BlueIndy – largest electric car share program in US – launches in Indianapolis

Bollore Group Inaugurates First BlueIndy Rental Location on Washington Street

On May 19, Indianapolis continued its legacy in transportation electrification leadership as it welcomed Bollore Group’s BlueIndy electric car sharing service to the city. Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, Bollore Chairman & CEO Vincent Bollore, ESN CEO Paul Mitchell and Indianapolis Power and Light President Kelly Huntington all participated in the ceremony yesterday and detailed the service’s benefits and technology.

This demo site, located at 14 E. Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis, will offer free test drives with BlueIndy Ambassadors over the course of the next several months while plans for the rollout of the service continue. About 25 rental locations will open by the end of 2014 when the service is open to the public.
